Michael
Michael Picard is a philosopher practicing in Vancouver, Canada, with a focus on philosophical coaching and public participatory philosophy.
He holds MSc and PhD degrees from MIT, where he wrote in the philosophy of mathematics.
Over 12 years in Victoria, Canada, he hosted more than 500 sessions of Cafe Philosophy, which he founded in 1997. He continued as facilitator since then with Simon Fraser University's Philosophers' Cafe program.
Author of This is Not a Book, and co-author of other best-selling widely-translated philosophy books, Picard currently teaches philosophy at Douglas College. Michael Picard is the originator and principal co-founder of Philosophy Sports.
